Welcome to the recently developed interest group with a focus on
ASD and associated conditions. The group is designed to provide and
share information with other professionals and parents about 'best
practise', support groups, upcoming workshops, funding, services,
resources, current policy and changes to policy etc.
We have come up with a list of potential stakeholders (Autism NZ, CAFS,
GSE, Altogether autism/Life Unlimited, DAP/CDU, RTLB's and Matt Winter).
Stakeholders are then able to filter the information down to parents,
TA's, NASC agencies etc.
The idea has developed after many discussions with parents and other
professionals not really knowing what is out there and what is
available for these kids in the Hawkes Bay.
We felt if we were able to pool our knowledge, we are then in a better
position to inform parents and otherprofessionals who are living and
working with these kids on a day to day basis.

Matt Frost (Policy Analyst CCS; Chair of 'NZ ASD Guidelines Adviser Group'; national/international presenter; adult with ASD) is presenting at the EIT (R101), on Friday 19 February for three sessions:
Session 1: (9.00-10.30am) Closed meeting for Forum members only
Session 2: (12.00-2.30pm) Open meeting (free to familiy and people with ASD) $20 per professional
Session 3: (5.30-7.00pm) Closed meeting for people with ASD only
